Students at the Louvre, Paris Invaluable experiences are hard to come by. Yet a group of students from the School of Interdisciplinary Studeis (IS) French Enhancement Programme and Basic Conversational French module experienced an unforgettable learning journey to France. Students gained new insights into the rich history of France, the French culture & language through their two week stay in France.

Thirty students explored the central areas of Paris, visiting famous sites such as the Louvre, Centre Pompidou (the National Modern Art Museum), Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower.
They also visited the commercial districts of the Champs-Élysées and Galeries Lafayette; a department store of over 60 shops; Montmartre, and L'Opéra.

Upon their arrival at Vichy, France, the students were warmly welcomed by the host families.
Each French host family adopted an IS student, and played the role of being a 'temporary family' to our students.
Host families prepared meals for our students, and also took them to school and back each day.

While attending French language classes in school in Vichy, IS students forged new friendships with people from all over the world. Attending intensive language classes at Cavilam was an enriching experience for our students, who were further motivated to improve their command of the French language.
Overall, the students deepened their understanding of the rich French culture and language, through this hands-on experiential learning journey to France.
