This programme helps you to strengthen and broaden your mathematics skills in preparation for admission to the university.

The syllabus leading up to the Certificate in Advanced Engineering Mathematics (CAEM) was revamped in April 2011 to align it to the Pure Mathematics section of the H2 A-Level Mathematics. To further strengthen your skills in calculus, additional advanced topics in differentiation and integration were also included. Together, they help to enhance your proficiency in mathematics, allowing for a smoother transition when you begin your university course. 

CAEM consists of three progressive modules and is moderated by an external moderator from NUS.

NP students with CAEM applying for admission to NUS are exempted from the NUS module MA1301. These students will be considered to have A-level equivalent mathematics and will be allowed to read modules listing A-level mathematics as a prerequisite (upon admission/matriculation).
