| To allow all students to have the opportunity to experience broad-based learning, IS makes continued efforts to export its expertise overseas. When NP recently launched its Diploma in Logistics Management (LMGT) at the Wuhan University of Science and Technology (WUST), IS simultaneously introduced several communication and life skills modules to complement the programme. The goal was to enable students in Wuhan to communicate effectively and think critically through six IS modules: Fundamentals of Writing, Building Oral Communication Skills 1 and 2, Creativity and Applied Thinking Skills, Report Writing and Entrepreneurship. The school also conducted an intensive English Language Bridging Course for freshmen prior to the start of the LMGT Diploma programme. IS and the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs have also launched several collaborative ventures in Southeast Asia. They include programmes that allow sharing of language expertise, as well as a successful series of short-term training courses in English communication skills. In facilitating these courses, IS staff have travelled to neighbouring countries such as Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia in order to help them develop their national human resources. Find out more at:
