Module Descriptions

The School of Interdisciplinary Studies Foreign Language Enhancement Programme presently offer Basic Korean modules at three levels.

Basic Korean 101 aims to introduce the students the basics of the Korean language. It will concentrate on developing students’ basic skills in practical, everyday conversation.

Basic Korean 102 will expand the students’ communicative abilities in Korean by giving students ample practice of the new vocabulary and grammatical items. Students will be guided to express their immediate needs in a more complex situation throughout the course. 
   
Basic Korean 103 will further expand the students’ communicative abilities in Korean by giving students ample practice of the advanced vocabulary and higher level grammatical items. Upon successful completion of the module, the students will be proficient in the use of the Korean Language in both spoken and written forms.

Various teaching methods and aids like multimedia resources and interactive games will be employed during the lessons to enhance students’ learning and comprehension. Popular Korean culture will also be incorporated throughout all levels of study. Language proficiency will continually be assessed through oral and written assignments/examinations.
