Profile/Areas of Interest :
Mark has a keen interest in the world around him especially how to make sense of current issues both away and closer to home. He constantly seeks to understand the interplay of international relations between states, and how this relates to their historical and socio-cultural contexts.
To say that Mark loves writing is an understatement. As a former Broadcast Journalist at Mediacorp Radio, Mark was responsible for the editing of the hourly news bulletins and the production of news programmes which ranged from an analysis of the US Presidential Elections to a biography of J.R.R. Tolkein, the author of the highly acclaimed "The Lord of the Rings" series.

Mark also has a passion for helping youths, and he pursued this at the National Youth Council, where his work revolved around the formulation and operation of policies to help at-risk youth. Specifically, he managed the StreetWise Programme targetting gang youths and crafted the concept paper for the inaugural Youth Congress 2007-2008. He was also part of the editorial team which published "The Offline Guide for the Online Generation: A Cyber Wellness Resource".

Mark spends most of his spare time mentoring youths in the community. His philosophy is to live life with a passion and to that end, he is often willing to travel far to enjoy good food. Given a chance, he would probably spend a significant part of his time travelling the world in order to imbibe the rich cultures present in societies both near and far.
