 Advanced Elective Modules

In 2006, the Ministry of Education (MOE) announced the introduction of Advanced Elective Modules (AEMs) in secondary schools, in collaboration with the polytechnics. This was a valuable opportunity for secondary schools to leverage on the polytechnics’ capabilities to enrich school curriculum and provide more choices for students, especially in the area of applied learning. The AEM is a 40-hour modules, which will not only enrich school curriculum, but will also provide students with greater exposure to practice-oriented learning approaches and help them discover their strengths and interests.

From October 2006, the School of ICT had offered the AEM in Art of Animation to three secondary schools, namely Bukit View Secondary, Dunearn Secondary and Ngee Ann Secondary. On completion of the course, students are able to create drawings that demonstrate the awareness of basic techniques in drawing for animation. They are also able to produce a simple animation using stop motion technique.
