About the Diploma    

If you would jump at the chance of creating the game environment for the next instalment of the World of Warcraft, you would need a course like the Diploma Multimedia & Animation (MMA) to take you there. You might just come up with an interactive multimedia experience that takes the world by storm!

Right from the first year, MMA gives you a strong foundation in art, design, and programming. You will also learn pre-production skills in concept design.

In your second year, you can specialise in either Game Art & Design or Interactive Art & Technology. In Game Art & Design, you will pick up game design skills and game engine scripting languages. With the skills, you can go on to design and create a 3D interactive gaming experience. In the Interactive Art & Technology specialisation, you will learn how to develop media-rich interactive applications for a wide range of digital technologies, such as the Web, 3D, iPhone and iPad. 

In your final year, you will be immersed in our Amphibi StudioTM where you will work on a multimedia production under the guidance of industry professionals.  You will  gain production and project management experience and be infused with the spirit of innovation and enterprise. What's more, you will graduate with an impressive industry-standard portfolio. 

Career Prospects

By nurturing your talent in conceptualising and development skills, MMA prepares you for jobs in Game Level Design, digital 3D Modeling and Design of the environment, buildings and sets for games, Visual Interface Design, Web Design, Interactive Experience Design and Development.

Further Studies   

You can pursue further studies in the creative technology field with universities such as the National University of Singapore (Communications & New Media), Nanyang Technological University (Art, Design and Media), Digipen Institute of Technology (Production Animation, Game Design), Sheridan College (Animation), Savannah College of Art and Design (Interactive Design & Game Development), James Cook University, Australia (New Media Arts), RMIT.

Entry Requirements   

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must have the following GCE ‘O’ Level examination (or equivalent) results and fulfil the aggregate computation requirements.

The aggregate computation for selection is based on grades obtained for English, Mathematics, Science (Grade 1-9) or Design & Technology (Grade 1-9) or Food & Nutrition (Grade 1-9) or a relevant OSIE / Applied Subject (Grade 1-9) and two other subjects

* Candidates must attain the required grade for English as a first language.

Candidates with hearing deficiency or severe vision deficiency should not apply for this course.

Those with colour appreciation deficiency may be considered, subject to passing an in-house test.

Elective Modules

In the second year, students may choose to specialise either in the Game Art & Design or Interactive Art & Technology option.
