About the Diploma 

Fancy developing your very own web browser or stepping into the shoes of Google’s founders? You can make these ambitions come true by equipping yourself first with the right skills, as offered by our Diploma in Information Technology (IT).

In your first year, you will build a strong grounding in IT fundamentals and learn about web applications, information systems, software development, computer architecture and network systems. You will also learn how to use IT to solve business problems.

In your second year, you can choose to specialise in one of these five specialisation options – Information Security & ForensicsNEW!, Infocomm Sales & Marketing, Mobile Business Application, Business Management and Solutions Architect.

On top of these options, you can also take up elective modules like Game Design and Games Programming.

In your final year, you will go on a four-month internship with local or overseas industry partners such as IBM, KPMG, SingTel and MIT. The internship will strengthen your IT, business and project management skills. Alternatively, you can choose to incubate your IT business ideas and develop technology applications.

Career Prospects 

You can find employment as a business analyst in banks, business support analyst, application developer, web application developer in e-business, network administration specialist in networking and security, software development specialist, and marketing, sales, pre-sales or post-sales support staff. You can also start your own IT-related business.

Further Studies

You can enjoy advanced standing at local and overseas universities in related degree programmes. These include National University of Singapore, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore Management University, University of New South Wales (Australia), University of Melbourne (Australia), Monash University (Australia),and most United Kingdom and United States universities.

Entry Requirements   

To be eligible for consideration, candidates must have the following GCE ‘O’ Level examination (or equivalent) results.

You must have also sat for a Science or Design & Technology or Food & Nutrition or a relevant OSIE / Applied Subject (Grade 1-9) and fulfil the aggregate computation requirements.

Candidates with severe vision deficiency should not apply for the course.

^  Interdisciplinary Studies (IS) modules at Ngee Ann help students become more versatile and competitive by expanding their knowledge and skills beyond their core disciplines. Areas covered include communication, entrepreneurship, lifeskills, media and the arts, and science and technology.

Students can choose to major in an option. Each option requires the completion of five prescribed modules. They will also take three other elective modules and undergo an internship project in their final year.
