Amazed by the human-like realism of Toy Story's Woody? Did you know his face alone contains 100 avars (hinges or controls) that animators use to create facial expressions ? Ever wondered what it takes to inject soul into animated characters? Flawless animation art, design and storytelling - that's what. Master these and more with NP's Diploma in Animation & 3D Arts (A3DA).
A3DA is a comprehensive practice-oriented course designed with your final-year goal in mind - to see through a full-fledged animation project from conceptualisation to post-production. On top of perfecting your skills in character, prop and environment design, you'll also learn scriptwriting, storyboarding and digital cinematography, knowledge that will prep you to become the big-picture animator you want to be. In your second year, choose to specialise in 3D Arts or Character Animation. You may even fly to China, Europe, the USA or Japan for overseas immersion programmes!
Excited? Now, be on your way to creating the next Brave or Frankenweenie!
A3DA graduates can look forward to careers in the fast-growing digital entertainment industry as animators in film, TV and mobile media. You may assume the role of a concept artist, storyboard artist, character designer, 2D/3D character animator, 3D modeller, texture artist, lighting artist, layout artist, 3D character rigger, animation producer or director.
