 Diploma Plus Certificate Programmes 

                                               
                                                Certificate in Advanced Computing Mathematics (CACM)
 

This programme is designed especially for and will benefit IT-related students by helping to build a stronger mathematics foundation required for pursuing degree programs in computing in both the local and overseas universities. Students who have obtained this Diploma Plus are deemed to have equivalent qualification in A-level Mathematics, thereby meeting the prerequisite to read all modules carrying A-level Mathematics as prerequisite, upon admission/matriculation to NUS.

The programme consists of three modules (CACM 1, CACM 2 and CACM 3). A student who has successfully completed the three modules will be awarded the Certificate in Advanced Computing Mathematics under the framework of Ngee Polytechnic’s Diploma Plus Programme.

There are three compulsory modules as follows with 3 credit units (45 hours) each:
                       • Advanced Statistics (CACM1),
                       • Calculus (CACM2),
                       • Discrete Mathematics (CACM3).


                                               Certificate in Business Solutions Development (CBSD)
    

This Diploma Plus programme aims to equip students with the expertise in using office applications to help them at their future work place to improve productivity and gain competency in solving increasingly complex problems.

Students will get hands-on experience in using a wide range of advanced features in office applications to develop customised and integrated business solutions. This programme uses office applications that go beyond the design and creation of web pages for presenting business information and statistics effectively on the web pages.

Upon completion of this programme, students are expected to be better prepared to attain internationally-recognised certifications such as Microsoft Certified Application Specialist (MCAS) certification and be better positioned to compete in relevant IT competitions at national or international level such as the World Skills Competition and Microsoft Office Academic Skills Challenge.

This Diploma Plus programme consists of three compulsory modules with 3 credit units (45 hours) each:
                    • Module 1: Basic Business Solutions (BBS)
                    • Module 2: Customised Business Solutions (CBS)
                    • Module 3: Integrated Business Solutions (IBS) 
 

                                              Certificate in Web Design and Development (CWDD)
 

This Diploma Plus programme aims to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the concepts and techniques of developing popular web-based applications, such as Content Management System (CMS) and social networking websites.

Students are expected to get hands-on experience in the design and development of an advanced web-based application, primarily using open source web development tools. Students will also be equipped with the skills and knowledge for web and database server administration and maintenance.

Upon completion of this programme, students are expected to be better prepared for employability and will be better positioned to compete in web-based competitions at national or international level such as the World Skills Competition

This Diploma Plus programme consists of three compulsory modules with 3 credit units (45 hours) each:
                     • Module 1: Web Design and Graphics (WDG)
                     • Module 2: Web Animation and PHP Programming (WAPP)
                     • Module 3: Advanced Web Development (AWD)
