Enrich@HS Discover the Exciting World of Healthcare Camp June 2013 Dear Principals & Teachers:
Greetings from the School of Health Sciences at Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
We are organising a 2 day 1 night camp from 6th to 7thJune using Exploring the Human Body and Resuscitation as the dominant theme for this year's Discovery Camp. We promise your students will be exposed to exciting scenarios, valuable knowledge and useful, maybe crucial, life-saving skills that will benefit them and their loved ones in their future.
Here are some of the highlights: - Students can explore the basic human structures and their functions by using high quality anatomical models, samples, bones and skeletons in the labs.
- A one day course training the students to be Citizen CPR providers. Such training ensures that your students can take active steps to help victims rather be helpless bystanders in the face of medical or other emergencies. The Citizen CPR training is provided free in our Discovery Camp. It will normally cost your students $35 for a 2 hour session for such training.
- Learn vital First Aid Skills that will empower you to help your loved ones and others who are in need of first aid.
- Hospital visits to experience a healthcare environment firs hand.
- Fun exciting games.
Beyond practical skills and knowledge, your students will also have the opportunity to experience Polytechnic life and get to know their peers from other school through team bonding games etc. If the polytechnic is where your students choice of education, this camp will provide an excellent opportunity for them to take a sneak peek of what it will all be like. In addition, this discovery camp will be useful for secondary school students (Sec 3 to Sec 5 "O"Level) who are interested to be healthcare professionals such as doctor, nurse or optometrist to gain exposure in various aspects relating to healthcare. The branding of these programmes as Enrich @ HS has dual meanings and intent: We wish your students can be enriched through their exploration of the exciting world of the health sciences.
We wish through these activities that we at HS can be enriched by encountering our future students and them with us.
As we finished three calendar year cycle of exciting HS Encounters, another year of potentially invigorating enrichment possibilities beckons. We have re-branded our HS Encounters programme with Enrich@HS. Different names same quality. We hope that your school will look out for and sign up for these planned workshops under this new marque. |
