| ENRICH@HS Caloric Hunt! Greetings to all! Calling all aspiring future health care professionals! The School of Health Sciences (HS), Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) is organizing a workshop cum competition entitled “Caloric Hunt”. This is to align with Singapore Health Promotion Board’s vision to build a nation of healthy and happy population. This program aims to inculcate knowledge on healthy food selection and increase awareness of healthy eating habit among our Secondary School students. We have crafted a half day programme with enriched activity that involves various educational games and group activities to raise awareness on healthy eating concept. Each school should send a group of 5 students to make up a team, and a maximum of 2 teams per school is allowed. Students will be taught on healthy eating habits concept, measurement of food calories and interpretation of food labels. As part of the program, students will undertake an assessment to transform an “unhealthy diet” to a healthier choice based on their understanding of healthy eating concept. The assessment will be in the form of quizzes and educational games. Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams. If you have any further questions or queries, do not hesitate to contact me, Ms Angela Lim, at HP: 98805394, Email: las3@np.edu.sg, or Fax: 6465 2248 About Enrich@HS The Enrich @ HS is our marquee series of enrichment programmes for secondary school system. The branding of these programmes as Enrich @ HS has dual meanings and intent: - We wish your students can be enriched through their exploration of the exciting world of the health sciences.
- We wish through these activities that we at HS can be enriched by encountering our future students and them with us.
As we finished three calendar year cycle of exciting HS Encounters, another year of potentially invigorating enrichment possibilities beckons. We have re-branded our HS Encounters programme with Enrich@HS. Different names same quality. We hope that your school will look out for and sign up for these planned workshops under this new marque. |
