Industry-based Learning
At HS, you will get to learn from industry practitioners and gain insights into modern healthcare with 45 weeks of clinical attachment from your first year. Institutions you could be attached to include the Singapore General Hospital, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, Changi General Hospital, Raffles Hospital and Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
Nursing students are also welcome to apply for a hospital sponsorship that offers a monthly allowance of $850 to $950! Live & Learn Abroad
As a nursing student, you will get to go on overseas immersions, internships and service learning trips to countries such as Australia, China, India, Cambodia and Thailand. This is the career path for a typical nurse in Singapore. The starting salary of a Staff Nurse with a Diploma in Health Sciences (Nursing) is around $1800 per month. The career path of a staff nurse after the diploma level depends on performance, qualifications, and the choice of the nurse as to which of the three paths (management, clinical, or education) to follow.

 As a nursing grad, you can apply for Medicine and Dentistry courses at the National University of Singapore under the Exceptional Individual Scheme.
You will also be able to pursue degrees at accredited universities both locally and abroad. These include the Nanyang Technological University and Singapore Management University. Alternatively, you can choose to further your knowledge in a particular fi eld by taking up advanced diplomas in areas such as Perioperative Nursing, Chronic Disease Nursing Management and Critical Care Nursing. You now also have the option of applying for a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Practice at the Singapore Institute of Technology. The two-year direct honours degree is offered in partnership with the University of Manchester and is subsidised. Our graduates also have the option to pursue degrees in Arts, Social Sciences, Psychology, Law, Biological and Life Sciences, Accounting, and more at NUS, NTU and SMU.
