As one of the newest schools in Ngee Ann Polytechnic, we have grown from strength to strength. One of our key performance indicators that have made us very proud is the increasing number of our graduates that went from obtaining our diploma to pursuing degrees both locally and abroad with prestigious scholarships backing them up.
In two of the last three years, our Nursing graduates have kept up a remarkable track record of receiving the highly coveted Ministry of Health's (MOH) Overseas scholarships. Dionn from the graduating class 2008 won this award and is currently studying at an Ivy League school, the University of Pennsylvania. Marcus from the 2010 cohort has been awarded this same scholarship and is currently awaiting entry into an overseas university of his choice.
At the next tier, our graduates have also been winning the competitive MOH local scholarships. Last year, we also saw a record number (11) of our students gained direct entry into the second year of the Nursing degree programme at the National University of Singapore (NUS).
Two of our graduates, Antoinette and Shi Jia also received highly competitive scholarships from NUS. Shi Jia made a successful transition from our Nursing diploma to read for a Life Sciences degree. In the process she also bagged the Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship to Encourage Upgrading award.
2012 has brought more good news. Over 20 of our alumni entered the University of Manchester Nursing degree programme at Singapore Institute of Technology and another 11 entered directly into the Second Year of the National University of Singapore's Nursing degree programme.
