 STATISTICS OFFICER    [Ref: AA/PAX]

You will take on a broad range of responsibilities involving administrative leadership in managing user requirements for the Student Admissions and Student Information systems.

The responsibilities of the Statistics Officer include the following:

  • Oversee system user requirements for admissions exercises and student records
  • Maintain a credible Student Information System to ensure delivery of accurate and timely information
  • Administer the provision of student data and statistics requests from both internal and external parties
  • Oversee the bi-annual Student Module Enrolment Exercise, providing key support to the academic schools and coordinating with relevant units
  • Manage student data for ezlink card application
  • Provide support in admissions administration and events
Pre-requisites:
  • A good Degree

 MANAGER/DEPUTY MANAGER    [Ref: IP/PAX]
 (Innovation Park)
 

The Manager and Deputy Manager will play the key roles of planning, facilitating and supporting a broad range of activities to create a vibrant campus environment to promote innovation. These will primarily be activities initiated by students, but complemented by a number of staff-initiated activities to achieve the objectives of the innovation park.

The responsibilities of the Manager and Deputy Manager include the following:

  • Manage an informal and conducive physical facility (the “innovation park”) to facilitate the development of innovative ideas, and carry out activities to encourage students to use the facility to share, exchange and further develop their ideas
  • Guide, advise and facilitate students and student groups in planning and organising innovation activities
  • Initiate, plan and organise activities to raise awareness and generate an innovation buzz among students
  • Administer NP’s funding schemes for innovative ideas and projects
Pre-requisites:
  • A good Degree, in any discipline
  • At least 3-5 years of working experience
  • Resourceful, creative and thrive on generating ideas
  • Highly student-centred with strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Strong sense of professionalism and service-orientation

 LIBRARIAN    [Ref: LIB/PAX1]
 Library (Information Systems)
 

To lead, manage, develop and implement Library IT and technical services to continuously support the polytechnic’s teaching and learning environment. You will also supervise the technical team in the support and administration of the Library’s IT infrastructure and services. Successful candidate will be required to work on shifts during term time to provide reference service.


Pre-requisites:
  • A good Degree preferably in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Experience in implementation, administration and management of Library Information & Management Systems (LIMS) and Digital Library in an academic library environment is preferred. Applicant with hands-on experience and knowledge in the migration and implementation of LIMS is preferred
  • Experience with .Net, SQL, Oracle, latest Web technologies and programming is necessary
  • Strong problem resolution and project management skills, with a proven ability to learn new technical environments and library related knowledge

 LIBRARIAN    [Ref: LIB/PAX2]
 Library (Acquisitions)
 

To develop the Library's resource collection in print, media and electronic formats. This includes liaising with academic staff for collection development and providing guidance in the use of acquisitions and collection development tools. Successful candidate will be required to work on shifts during term time to provide reference service.


Pre-requisites:
  • A good Degree preferably in Science, Business, Engineering or Computer Science. A recognised professional qualification in Library and Information Science will be an advantage
  • Interest in library and information work. Training will be provided for those without the required experience
  • Relevant experience in book, media materials purchasing or serials work will be an advantage

 LIBRARIAN    [Ref: LIB/PAX3]
 Library (Serials)
 

To develop, organise and manage subscriptions to serials (both print and electronic) and e-databases. Knowledge of tools and sources for collection development and serials cataloguing rules will be an advantage. You will be required to liaise with academic staff for collection development, acquisition/subscription, bibliographic control, collection management and maintenance. The successful candidate will be required to work on shifts during term time to provide reference service.


Pre-requisites:
  • A good Degree preferably in Science, Business, Engineering or Computer Science. A recognised professional qualification in Library and Information Science will be an advantage
  • Interest in library and information work. Training will be provided for those without the required experience
  • Relevant experience in book, media materials purchasing or serials work will be an advantage
