 DIRECTOR
 Internal Audit Office
 

We are looking for a dynamic person to provide leadership and direction in the Internal Audit Office of the Polytechnic. The Internal Audit Office is responsible for planning, organising and carrying out independent audits and reviews of the Polytechnic’s activities and operations to evaluate and report on the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes, and recommend improvements. The Office also reports on compliance with established policies and procedures and
applicable regulations.

The job requires someone who has strong leadership and management competencies with sound knowledge and proven experience with audits. You will work closely with the Polytechnic’s Audit Committee to develop and implement audit strategies. You should help to drive innovation and continuous improvement to the standard, timeliness and quality of internal audits and reviews, including improvements in the audit methodologies and approaches taken by the Polytechnic.

Pre-requisites:
• A good Degree in Accountancy or professional qualification, Engineering,
  Quantity Surveying, Economics, Business Administration and preferably
  with MBA, MSc in Management or equivalent
• At least 10 years’ relevant working experience in internal or external auditing
• Strong leadership and management competencies
• Sound knowledge of audit methodology and practices
• Ability to balance between consulting role and professional objectivity
• Excellent interviewing, written, communication and interpersonal skills


 
     
     
 
 
 
 
 
 DEPUTY DIRECTOR
 Estate Management Office
 

We are looking for a dynamic person to assist the Director of Estate Management to lead in all aspects of estate and facility management of the Polytechnic, including the proper management, regular maintenance and continuous upgrading of the main campus and other associated facilities. With input from the Polytechnic senior management team, you will plan and manage the re-development of the campus and facilities so as to create and maintain a quality teaching and learning environment to support the function of the Polytechnic.

The job requires someone who is a team player and has knowledge and experience in master planning, re-development projects as well as renovation and upgrading projects. You will prepare and formulate proposals to seek funding and follow up on liaison with Government Ministries and agencies in managing various campus development projects. In addition, you will study, review and recommend to senior management new development opportunities and strategies to rationalise space requirements and standardisation to achieve optimum efficiency and usage.

Pre-requisites:
• A good Degree, preferably in Engineering, Architecture, Building or
  Estate Management
• At least 8 years’ relevant working experience in estate and facility management
• Strong leadership and managerial competencies
• Ability to multi-task and deliver results under tight timelines
• Strong sense of professionalism, quality-consciousness and service-orientation


 
     
     
 
 
 
 
 
 ACCOUNTANT (POLYTECHNIC ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER)
 Finance Office
 

You will undertake the following responsibilities:

• Maintain the books of NP’s subsidiaries (unconsolidated and consolidated accounts)
• Prepare and analyse management reports
• Manage ad hoc or new projects when required

Pre-requisites:
• A good Degree in Accountancy, Business Administration or equivalent
• At least 3 years' relevant working experience
• Experience in using IT software, especially Excel, in financial environment
• Experience in using Peoplesoft Financial will be an advantage


 
     
     
 
 
 
 
 
 STUDENT COUNSELLOR (POLYTECHNIC ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER)
 Student Services Office
 

You will undertake the following responsibilities:

• Provide individual and group counselling for students to help them understand
  and better manage their personal, social, or behavioural problems that may
  affect their educational situations
• Handle case management and crisis intervention
• Work closely with the schools and external agencies to develop, plan and
  implement campus-wide psychological and out-reach programmes to promote
  the social and emotional development of the students
• Manage Career and Further Studies services which involve liaising with
  external organisations and educational institutions on creating jobs
  and higher education opportunities for our students/graduates
• General administration to support the Student Services Office

Pre-requisites:
• A good Degree in any discipline
• Preferably have or currently pursing a Post-Graduate Diploma/Master’s in
  Counselling
• School or counselling experience with tested ability in change management,
   particularly with youths, will be an advantage
• Possess a dynamic personality and enjoy working with people
• Good communication, interpersonal and crisis-intervention skills
