Ngee Ann organises a wide range of fun, challenging and exciting competitions for schools. These flagships have become annual events that many schools look forward to. See below for the list of events during the year. The schedule may be subject to change, so please check with the respective contact persons for more information.

Bull’s Eye Competition
This competition explores the principles of momentum, basic electricity, motors and drive systems. Students will design, model and race automated and self-powered projectiles.

Electrifying Connections
This fun and adrenaline-charged competition is designed to spark a student’s interest in electric circuits. Students will learn to design and connect battery-operated circuits to operate lights, alarms and mini-fans.

Green Building Competition 
This competition will introduce secondary school students to sustainable design, and then pit their knowledge of green building technologies and their understanding of Singapore’s green initiatives against each other. In the process, they will learn to “Be Green & Stay Cool.”

This conference-cum-competition gets students to build a stronger identity for their schools using creative communication methods. They will pick up the principles of advertising, public relations and integrated marketing communications.

Singapore Youth & Media Conference
Students will critically analyse a given theme through forum sessions and over research papers produced by other students. The two-day conference also includes media workshops on sports journalism, video, photography and advertising.  In 2010, the year that Singapore hosts the first Youth Olympic Games, the given theme is “Sports and Media”.

Jointly organised with the Singapore Science Centre, this fair highlights advances in biotechnology and biomedical science. A competition will let students conduct their own research and display their findings.
