Small Bacteria, Big Contributions

Synopsis: Dr Mohamed Fauzi Haroon, 30, landed a job as a researcher at Harvard University after publishing in international interdisciplinary science journal Nature

"My goal is to engage in scientific research, which is not necessarily at Harvard. But when the opportunity arises, I will not hesitate to take it. Honestly, I did not expect a response when I applied to Harvard," said former student of Tanjong Katong Secondary School and Ngee Ann Polytechnic. 

As a postdoctoral reseracher at Harvard, he undertakes research to discover types of bacteria that can generate renewable electricity, and also guide PhD students at the university.
