It was a proud moment for Ngee Ann Polytechnic when 3 of our graduates received the prestigious Lee Kuan Yew Scholarship to Encourage Upgrading (LKY-STEP Award) from the Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, Dr Yaacob Ibrahim, at a ceremony on 21 August 2008.
This is the 2nd scholarship for each of the winners, and they are:
Ron Ng Chong Sheng Silver medallist, Diploma in Biomedical Laboratory Technology (2007) Ron, who had also received the NUS Undergraduate Scholarship, was one of the first two polytechnic graduates to be accepted into Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore (NUS).
Marvin Kang Ping Song Gold medallist, Diploma in Business Studies (2008) Marvin, who recently won the Public Service Commission (PSC) Singapore Government Scholarship (Open), is currently pursuing a double degree programme in Business Administration and Communications & New Media at the National University of Singapore (NUS).
Joanne Tan Li Yuan Silver medallist, Diploma in Business Studies (2008) Joanne, who had been awarded the Nanyang Scholarship, is currently pursuing Bachelor of Business at Nanyang Technological University (NTU). |
