Ngee Ann Polytechnic will review its policies, programmes and services and undertake to act whenever necessary to meet the aims set out in this charter. The Polytechnic will seek to:

• Develop educational opportunities for students and staff to raise awareness, enable analysis, evaluation and provide participative experience of environmental issues
  
• Develop information systems to monitor and communicate environmental policies, programmes and performance to students and staff
  
• Develop energy and water policies based on conservation and efficiency of use
  
• Develop solid waste minimisation policies based on the reduction, reuse and recycling of materials
  
• Develop strategies to minimise pollution, protect and enhance the quality of the campus environment

Ngee Ann's environmental initiatives have received accolades including the annual Greenwave Environmental Competition, Hong Kong and Shanghai Banking Corporation/National Youth Achievement Award 2005.

Ngee Ann Polytechnic has also hosted an inaugural forum in April 2005 that saw environmentalists, energy industry players, and politicians debating and discussing key issues such as the impact of the climate change on Asia, and the roles of the energy industry and the government.
