HMS students initiate Run For My Lunch - Sign Up Now!

Run for My Lunch (RML) is a student-initiated charity run organized by HMS students. Spear-headed by students in the Diploma in Psychology and Community Service (PCS), the run aims to raise funds for needy children. In addition, RML will also be advocating for social inclusion by inviting people with disability to participate in the run.

RML will be held at East Coast Park, Dalbergia Green on 31 Jan 2010 at 8 am.  All participants are entitled to a goodie bag worth $150 (e.g. free facial treatment spa, discount vouchers from newurbanmales and Botak Jones). Prizes for the competitive run category includes Swatch watches, New Balance shoes and other sports accessories.

BZSE and PCS hold Research and Integrated Learning Symposium


In culmination of a semester of PCS & BZSE students’ research and integrated learning efforts, a symposium was organised on 7 Feb 2009 to showcase local and overseas research projects.

37 teams of students from 3 cohorts (PCS Year 1, PCS Year 2, BZSE Year 1) shared their research experience to an audience of about 100 guests comprising industry & community partners, secondary school teachers & students, parents and relatives. Also on display during the symposium were research posters which documented the research process.

The guest speaker for the event was Ms Melissa Kwee, an inspiring and dedicated award-winning youth advocate.


BZSE and PCS Students Take the Lead in NCSS Carnival 08

The School of Humanities (HMS) supported the National Council of Social Service (NCSS) 2-day mega-carnvial at the Esplanade Park on 23 & 24 August 08. The event celebrated 50 years of structured social service in Singapore. More than 160 students from PCS and BZSE students helped 21 social services run their games booth at the carnival. Ten PCS Year 2 students also performed magic on stage, using the magic skills to convey messages of hope and change to the audience.
