| VOX! stands for Visual, Originality and X-factor. These are the qualities of a multimedia journalist in the new media age.
The VOX! New Media Workshop 2011 kicked off on 11 November 2011 at NP and is the third time that the Diploma in Chinese Media & Communication (CMC) is co-organising this annual workshop with bilingual news and interactive web portal, omy.sg for 85 secondary students and teachers from 14 participating schools.
Over 3 days, editors and journalists from Chinese newspapers and omy.sg, as well as HMS lecturers, shared a wealth of media experiences with the students.
Together with 30 student mentors from CMC, participating students got to:
1. Learn basic journalism skills, and the key characteristics of print and online media; 2. Pick up useful filming and editing skills; 3. Learn from local movie director and journalists; 4. Produce their own news vodcasts that will be showcased on omy.sg. | |  |
