“Puppets
Alive!” is an enrichment programme designed to teach students the
skills of puppetry. Under the mentorship of an experienced puppet
trainer, students use a treasure of vibrant and life-size puppets to
enthral and excite the audience. The puppets help to create an imaginary
world of characters and stories. Students draw on their own experiences
and culture from myths, fairytales or everyday events. There is much
improvisation, creativity and fun in the workshop as it encompasses
performance skills and collaborative learning.

| "The
ART of Being" is an experiential workshop using Art Therapy to explore
inner issues and feelings, and enhance communication between individuals
and groups, in a supportive environment. For this workshop,
participants will be guided by a registered Art Therapist who will guide
them to explore the issues using a variety of art materials, such as
paint or clay. The workshop is especially useful in discovering one's
uniqueness and helping the individual to cope better with choices and
challenges. The enrichment programme will also increase one’s awareness
in using art therapy as an innovative and sensitive therapeutic method
in understanding and addressing behavioural problems. |

The
latest addition to our slew of enrichment programmes, the "Hope Through
Drama" workshop aims to introduce students to the world of drama. Our
students are trained by the Covenant Players (CP) in a 6-hour drama
workshop in counseling and early childhood education for staff and
students. CP is founded by Charles Tanner, a Hollywood scriptwriter who
has written about 3,000 scripts for CP. The participants were taught
basic skills in drama and the use of minimal props for short skits. Most
importantly, the participants learnt to use drama to instil hope,
encouragement and present a positive message.
