I'm currently a first year student in NP and would like to apply for the Diploma in Chinese Studies. What must I do? |
|
Assuming that you do meet the minimum requirements, you should still complete your semestral examinations of your current programme (i.e. Feb 07 exam). After the release of exam results, during the stipulated review and appeal period, submit the appeal to transfer to your current School (Form is downloadable from AA website). Subject to the availability of places, the exam results and the approval of both your current School Director and the Director of the School of Humanities (HMS), you may be offered the course in CHS.
Candidates who are keen on a teaching career with MOE can apply directly to MOE (http://www.moe.gov.sg/teach/Olevels.htm) for a teaching bursary which includes full tuition fee and personal allowances. Short listed candidates will be required to attend an interview conducted by MOE.
Please note that your application will be processed later as you have already taken a place in the polytechnic. |

I'm an "A" level holder interested in the Diploma in Chinese Studies but NOT interested in applying for an MOE teaching bursary. Do I fill in the MOE Direct Application form for CHS or apply online at JAE? |
|
As an "A" level holder who's NOT interested in the MOE bursary, you can apply online during the JAE period. You should apply for the "SingPass" to enroll online. You can apply for the SingPass online via the MOE website, but this will probably take 7 days for a pass to be issued you. It's best that you apply for a SingPass at a Community Club which can issue you the pass within an hour. The Community Club nearest Ngee Ann Polytechnic is at Clementi Ave 4. |

I'm an ex-poly student -i.e. I have left the polytechnic without graduating with a diploma. I would like to enroll for CHS. However, I'm not interested to teach. How do I apply? |
|
The application is already closed. You should look out for next year's DAE's date which will be fixed later in the year. Please check the Ngee Ann's website if you are interested. |
