You are advised to apply under Direct Admission Exercise. Please check Admissions Website to see when application open. Ngee Ann will assess your qualifications and determine whether you have the equivalent of the minimum requirements for the desired course.

No. You still have to meet the EL requirement.
12. What if I am a mature student?
CHS welcomes mature applicants. We believe that mature students add a great deal of value to the student body. However, if you have been away from school too long, you might not be able to cope with the pace and rigor of training in NP.
13. What if I have GCE A-levels?
Students with “A” levels are very welcome to apply, but admission is based solely on “O” level results and you will have to complete three years of each diploma course.
14. What if I accepted a place in either another NP course or other Polytechnic before I got the CHS offer? Will I get a refund on the fees? I have already paid?
If you have accepted a place at another polytechnic, such as SP or TP, all you need to do is to write to that poly informing them that you wish to withdraw from that course as you are taking up an offer from CHS, NP. You are most likely to be charged a $50 administration fee and have the rest of the fees paid refunded to you.

If you have accepted a place in another Ngee Ann course, you will be advised to confirm your acceptance to CHS and Ngee Ann will make the internal transfer arrangements, with minimum inconvenience to you.
15. What if I can't decide whether to go to JC or to come to Ngee Ann?
and I have to make a commitment to the JC and pay their fees?
Course Enrolment for NP this year is in late March. You will just have to make up your mind about which course of action is best for you. You are advised to talk to our faculty members or students to know more about each course. Consider also your own personal strengths and weaknesses and estimate where you would be happiest.
16. What if I'm still in NS. Will Ngee Ann hold a place for me if I'm successful in my application via JAE or JPSAE?

Final year media track students will embark on a one semester Industrial Attachment Programme to companies related to the fields of studies.
20. What companies will students be attached to for the Industrial Attachment Programme?
Students can be attached to various companies for their Industrial Attachment Programme depending on their iinterest. The companies range from those specialising in the print media, broadcast media, production of education materials, translation & interpretation, advertising, marketing and public relations. Examples of companies which our students have been attached to include the number of Chinese newspapers from Singapore Press Holdings, the Curriculum Development Unit ( Ministry of Education) and MediaCorp's I-Weekly magazine.
21. Is this a Chinese Mass Communication (MCM) Course?
CHS is not a full-fledged Mass Communication (MCM) programme. However, a number of subjects taught within mass communication are covered in CHS. The CHS curriculum is carefully designed to cover a good balance of core modules in Chinese history, literature and language studies, and other modules in applied skills. For example, students will study subjects like Written Communication (in English & Chinese), Social Psychology, Human Communication, Writing for the Chinese Media, New Media Applications, Marketing Communications, Radio Production & Video Production. Such subjects are also typically offered within a mass communication course. These subjects are injected in CHS as they are invaluable in enabling our students to find careers in the media, as well as empowering our students aspiring to be CL teachers to be equipped with relevant knowledge and skills to be more effective and interesting teachers.
22. Are there CCA activities?
School of Humanities (HMS) has different interest groups catering to different students' needs, such as broadcasting, singing, drama, and creative writing. Furthermore, there are also Campus wide CCA activities.
