Diploma in Business & Social Enterprise (N79)

bullet Business with a heart – the first such course in Singapore
bullet Robust curriculum that covers business and the social sciences
bullet Overseas study trips for all students, right from your first year

Run a business AND make life better for the less fortunate – nope, it’s not just some pipe dream but something you can achieve with the right mix of skills. And that’s where this course, the first of its kind, comes in.

The Diploma in Business & Social Enterprise (BZSE) will teach you to achieve your business objectives by providing you with the fundamentals in areas such as enterprise creation and development, project management, and more.

You will learn to help non-profit organisations set up businesses, execute local and overseas projects, and lead companies in setting up Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programmes.

As a BZSE student, you will also get to work with international non-profit organisations and non-governmental organisations such as Project Happy Feet and World Vision. This will give you the added bonus of being able to network with, and learn from award-winning social entrepreneurs.

In your final year, you will get to choose between working on your own social enterprise project or the chance to go on an internship. Thanks to our industry partnerships, you will be able to go on internships with companies such as DBS Bank as well as national agencies such as the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) and the National Volunteer & Philanthropy Centre.

You might also intern at Ngee Ann’s very own social enterprise, Dialogue in the Dark (DiD), where you will work alongside the visually-impaired.

Think corporations are soulless? Well, here’s your chance to help them “grow” a heart by showing them that they can be both profitable and socially responsible!

With this diploma under your belt, you’ll be able to work for businesses and non-profit organisations as a community development officer, human resource executive, marketing executive, or corporate communications officer.

Get up to one semester’s exemption when applying for relevant degree programmes at the Nanyang Technological University and the National University of Singapore. You may also enjoy exemptions with the following overseas degree programmes:
