Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs) (ADECI)
Introduction
This course aims to produce high quality early childhood and special education teachers to work with children with special needs/exceptionalities, including intellectual, physical, and sensory disabilities as well as children with communication, social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
Course Objective
The course is designed to train experienced educators/teachers and related professionals, who already hold a qualification in early childhood or special education at degree or diploma level, to work with preschool children with special needs and also to work collaboratively with parents and other professionals.

This is suitable for those who are already in the field but do not have a qualification in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs).

Minimum Entry Requirements
Candidates must - Possess a Diploma in Preschool Teaching/Early Years/Early Childhood Education, or a Diploma in Special Needs (DISE), or the Certificate in Special Needs (CISE) and 2 'A' levels. Preference will be given to those with direct experience of working with children with special needs.
- Submit a letter of recommendation from current employer.
- Attend an interview, if necessary.
- Submit a medical report on acceptance into the course, stating your fitness to work with young children.
