The Chinese Studies Diploma is jointly designed and taught by faculty from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Zhejiang University City College (ZUCC), Central China Normal University (CCNU) and the National Institute of Education (NIE). The course prepares students for a range of careers in education, media, business as well as translation and interpretation.

Final-year CHS students will choose between an industry attachment programme (IAP) with a media company and an industry based project (IBP). Currently, some of the companies involved in the IAP include Singapore Press Holdings, MediaCorp, Ministry of Education, NTUC Income Insurance Co-operative Ltd, Panpac Education, Shooting Gallery Motion Pictures, Toy Factory Productions, and Cutting Edge Productions. CHS students get a chance to hone their skills and knowledge through jobs such as reporters, jounalists, producers, assistant producers and editors.
