Exams were always tough for me. They were like the bane of my existence. We always thought that when we go to Poly, we would no longer have exams, but that's not true. I have exams now and will still have them when I go to the other semester.
However, I managed to overcome my fear for the exams. How? By studying hard and being well prepared for it!!! (I know I'm stating the obvious, forgive me for that.)
One of the most conducive environments is obviously the...
LIBRARY!

I love it when the library is quieter during the holidays and you can just enclose yourself in the room and do a whole day of studying. Besides the library, let me introduce some of the common places we study at:
The Attic

A wonderful place to study, I would say. With air-con and bean bags, it's hard to give studying here a miss!
Ourspace@72

As you can see from the pictures above, it's pretty huge in here. On top of that, there's a café here, so you can always charge up your battery before studying!
The Atrium

Out in the open, here is the place to hang out and study if you want to feel the breeze and enjoy the scenery!
under the Convention Centre

With lesser crowds walking pass this area, here is definitely one of the potential places for studying!
The Student Plaza

Need to run off somewhere after you're done with studying? Well, here's the right place since it's located next to the main bus stop!
Now moving on, what are some of the tips I have? Well, for me, I'm the type of person that prefers to block everything out when I'm studying. So, all I hear is my iTunes playlist!

Music has always played a big part in my life and I can never live without it. As such, it plays an important role in blocking out noises so that I can concentrate on reading my notes and studying on my own.
Another tip I have for studying: Study with friends if you can't do it alone!

I know some of you cannot concentrate when you're alone. You get distracted easily and end up surfing the net in the end (like myself). Thus, it is always wise to have someone there with you so that they can push you. It's like having a police officer telling you what you can/cannot do, just that this "police officer" is close to you.

Last but not least, I know some people are really visual, so colours/drawings really play a big part when note taking. Therefore, I took the liberty of borrowing my friends' notes to show you their magnificent "masterpieces".

Also, after taking a certain module, we often doodle on our notes to make them more interesting and fun! Check out what my friend did for me:

To sum it all up, never fear exams as long as you've studied hard enough! Do not fall into a mode of panic and end up blanking out on that day itself. STAY CALM AT ALL TIMES. Just grit your teeth and make the best out of it! We're all in this together so let's all study hard and give it our best shot! And for those of you who are already studying hard for the exams. Ganbatte!
P.s. I'm Noel and I will be blogging here from now on, so join me again next week for more updates!
