Under NP’s existing Mobile e-learning (MeL) programme, which was Singapore's first wireless campus programme, our students have the flexibility of working on assignments, surfing the Internet, accessing module web-sites, participating in online discussions, and communicating with your tutors and classmates on the go – on and off campus.
Since the academic year 2006/07, FMS has decided to adopt the Apple Notebook platform, which is a popular choice in the creative industries.
The intent behind the decision is to leverage and maximise on Apple’s suite of professional and well integrated design- and media-related software and hardware, and its e-learning approach. We have negotiated an exclusive deal that allows Apple notebooks to be offered at the same cost as a PC notebook equivalent, and the laptops will come fully loaded with a powerful suite of software applications.
Besides the idea that owning an Apple Notebook is cool, and you will have far fewer problems with viruses, we believe, it will add a new dimension to your learning experience and enable you to “create anywhere.”
