Why do some brands become household names while others remain difficult to recall? How does a new brand surpass a more established one? The secret is in powerful Advertising and PR campaigns. The first poly diploma of its kind, the Diploma in Advertising & Public Relations (APR) will help you gain an understanding of the consumer psyche. Discover the magic that drives consumer behaviour and brand loyalty. Capture consumer attention by creating original and impactful advertising messages as well as compelling and newsworthy PR campaigns.

The Best of Advertising & PR We believe in standing on the shoulders of giants. What this means is that you will enjoy countless opportunities to learn from the best in the business as they share the latest winning strategies and trends with you. Our agency partners don’t just co-develop the APR curriculum – some will even be your lecturers!
Gain a firm grasp of key Advertising and PR principles in your first year, as you pick up diverse skills spanning visual communication, broadcast media production and social psychology.
In your second year, you will learn about agency management, brand management, media planning, PR campaign planning, and crisis management – all while being mentored by our agency partners.
Your final year will see you putting these skills to the test. How? By working on an integrated marketing campaign with real clients such as Nokia, M1 and the Health Promotion Board of Singapore.
Venture out on a six-month internship programme, either locally or abroad, to further sharpen the skills you need for success in an agency setting. As regional and global perspectives are increasingly sought after in the Advertising and PR industry, we have secured internship opportunities for you with multinational agencies in Shanghai. They include Mindshare, Edelman PR, Saatchi & Saatchi, BBH and Acorn Asia. Alternatively, you could intern with MeiKao, one of China’s largest agency networks. Agency-based Learning Learning works best via practical training. That’s why you will get to experience our Agency-based learning model in your second year. This also means scoring the chance to work with experts from top agencies like Weber Shandwick, Hill & Knowlton, Waggener Edstrom, Saatchi & Saatchi, Ogilvy & Mather/Redworks, Aegis Media and more, after being taught by them. How’s that for getting first dibs on employment with these key players?
Wondering what the next step is? After securing the widely recognised APR diploma, you will be equipped to hit the ground running in any advertising or public relations agency, marketing communications department or corporate communications office.
You can fully expect to start a rewarding career in advertising and public relations as an account executive, brand executive, media planner, account planner, marketing executive, corporate communications officer, or advertising & promotion (A&P) executive.
With the APR diploma, you will be able to pursue degrees in related disciplines such as communications, media, advertising, public relations, marketing, arts and the social sciences at local and overseas universities. What's more, you may receive between one and two years’ advanced standing from overseas universities such as Curtin University, Monash University and RMIT University in Australia, as well as the UK's University of Hertfordshire.
