Ideas.inc is a startup accelerator program hosted by the Nanyang Technopreneurship Center, the focal point for entrepreneurship education in the Nanyang Technological University.

They provide workshops, mentors and seed funding for your business ideas -with the aim of developing your conceptual ideas into actual products or services. They also bridge ideas to potential angel investors through their Partnering Investors (with S$700,000 equity funding pledged) as well as the wider investor network in Singapore.

eChallenge 2012

The Entrepreneurs' Challenge 2012 is a business plan competition, which aims to foster the successful development of new ideas into investment-ready, early-stage companies. It stimulates innovation and entrepreneurship and creates genuine commercial prospects.

2 Categories of Submission:
   a. Technology-based Ideas
   b. Service Industry-based Ideas

The University of Adelaide, Singapore eChallenge, is organised by the Ngee Ann - Adelaide Education Centre and sponsored by the Ngee Ann Kongsi. The Singapore eChallenge is held in conjunction with The University of Adelaide eChallenge, held in South Australia which is organised by the Entrepreneurship, Commercialisation and Innovation Centre (ECIC), a faculty in the University of Adelaide.

The winning teams of the 2011 Singapore eChallenge may have the opportunity to participate in the 2013 Adelaide eChallenge.

Closing date 8 July 2012 for submission of Registration Form and Concept Proposal.

Invitation to participate in Spirit of Enterprise Awards 2012

Are you enthuse to hear interesting journery stories from successfuly business entreprenuers?

Spirit of Enterprise is a non profit organisation which aims to promote entrepreneurship. Every year they organise the Spirit of Enterprise Award to recognise our local business entrepreneurs’ achievements. One of their process is that the award nominees will be interviewed and base on these interviews SOE will shortlist the winners.

To provide students an opportunity to be "up, close and personal " with local entrepreneurs, they would like to invite students to interview the entrepreneurs on their entrepreneurship journey and experiences.They would brief the shortlisted student interviewers on the award eligibility and criteria.

This is a good opportunity for the students to know the local entrepreneurs.In addition, students will be paid an honorarium of $100 for every entrepreneur they interview.

EntrepriZe! Award Panel 
7th February 2012


EnterpriZe! is an incentive co-funding scheme by NP to help students develop innovative business ideas.

Aspiring young entrepreneur-students from various schools who have business ideas can apply for the Award. You will be required to make a presentation to the panelists to seek the seed funds for their business venture.

The ACE Startups Grant

The ACE Startups grant aims to provide funding support to entrepreneurial Singaporeans who want to take their first step in starting up.
 
Financial Assistance
ACE will match $7 to every $3 raised by the entrepreneur for up to $50,000. 

For selected ventures, ACE will match $3 to every $7 raised by the entrepreneur for an additional $50,000. For these ventures, the total grant is capped at $100,000.

Eligibility Criteria
At the point of application:

The Applicant:
  • Must be a Singaporean/PR. Parental consent must be sought for those applicants 18 years old and below on the date of application.
  • Is a first time entrepreneur 
  • Is the key driver in the company and must be committed to the business on a full-time basis.
The Company:
  • Must NOT be registered or incorporated;
  • Have NOT received any funding for the proposed business idea from another government organisation;
  • Eligble applicant(s) must hold or propose to hold at least 51% equity in the underlying company; and   
  • Proposed business idea must not be in the objectionable list. This includes night clubs, lounges, bars, foot reflexology, massage parlours, gambling, prostitution, social escort services, employment agencies (including recruiting foreign work permit holders and workers/ support staff, relocation services, and manpower services), and geomancy etc.
       First Application Period
       1 Feb to 16 Mar

13th Start-Up@Singapore Business Plan Competition

Following the success of the 12th Start-Up@Singapore, we are back with the much-waited 13th Start-Up@Singapore. Being a nation-wide business plan competition that aims to be the beacon for start-ups on their road to success, we continue our mission to nurture a new generation of aspiring entrepreneurs. Besides attractive prize money for winners, participants are guaranteed a holistic learning experience through an extensive resource hub for entrepreneurship; encompassing mentorship programs, educational seminars, training aids and networking sessions. We open doors for you to pitch to and get advice from entrepreneurs, corporations and investors. All you need to do is to prepare a three-page executive summary of your business idea to kick off your exciting journey into the business world!

Social Enterprise/Co-operative category

The 13th Start-Up@Singapore will serve to widen our outreach and touch base with community-driven business models like social entrepreneurship. This year, Start-Up@Singapore is launching two new exciting categories - the Social Enterprise/Co-operative Open category and Social Enterprise/Co-operative Youth category. Co-operatives focus on meeting both social and economic needs, through principles of self and mutual help. If you are passionate about alleviating social problems through entrepreneurship, this category is catered to you. Participants whose entries are shortlisted will participate in a 2-day Social Business Boot Camp organised by Grameen Creative Lab@NUS where aspiring social entrepreneurs will refine their ideas and develop sustainable, scalable business plans to be pitched to a panel of experts including Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus!

Singapore International Foundation
Youth Social Entrepreneur 2012

YSE 2012 returns stronger and more exciting! It includes a 3-day workshop which will be held from Wed 29 Feb to Fri 2 Mar 2012 and followed with dialogue and networking sessions throughout the year.

You will be competing for opportunities to be mentored by leading business consultancy firms and to pitch your business proposals to a panel of judges. You can also vie for limited opportunities to participate in study visits to leading social enterprises in Thailand (Population and Development International) and India (Ashoka).

You will also have opportunities to learn from and interact with leading social entrepreneurs, business professionals and other youths who are keen on social innovation, while expanding your network of contacts for collaborations and partnerships.

All YSE participants become part of the SIF’s YSE global network. YSE network events include regular dialogues and networking sessions with SIF visitors/thought leaders, as well as Ideas for a Better World forum speakers, organised locally and overseas.  YSE alumni will also be invited to SIF’s other forums and networking events with business leaders, policy-makers, arts professionals and social leaders.

  • Singaporeans and international youths under the age of 25
