Citi-Ideas in Action
Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s Entrepreneurs-Connect@NP (EC@NP), together with Design & Rapid Prototyping Centre (DRPC)
,  is proud to have supported the culmination event of Citi-Ideas in Action 2008, which took place at the Ngee Ann Polytechnic Convention Centre on 12 September 2008. Citi-Ideas in Action is an annual event organised by Citigroup and the Learning Society.  It is supported by the Ministry of Education and the event has been hosted at Ngee Ann Polytechnic since 2007.   It aims to develop students’ creative and entrepreneurial ideas through seed funding from the Citi Foundation. Teams receive grant funding of up to $2,500 for the development of their new ideas.  Grants are not given to reward completed projects, but are based on the degree of innovative and entrepreneurial thinking and the creative process displayed in the submitted project plans. Short-listed submissions are presented to a panel of judges comprising professionals from the education, business, media and public sectors.

The Polytechnic had in May and June 2008 invited school participants to Ngee Ann Polytechnic for hands-on sessions in product design.  For the article on this event, click here.

Subsequently, finalist teams’ prototypes were exhibited at the Ngee Ann Polytechnic Convention Centre on 12 September 2008.

Needless to say, Ngee Ann Polytechnic had also submitted entries for Citi Ideas-In-Action 2008, some of which made it to the culmination event. To view information on the Polytechnic’s winning entries, click here .
