Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s Entrepreneurs-Connect@NP (EC@NP), together with Design & Rapid Prototyping Centre (DRPC), were pleased to support schools participating in Ideas in Action 2008, organized by Citi and the Learning Society.

On 27 May 2008 and 24 June 2008, the polytechnic invited interested school participants to visit Ngee Ann, where lecturers and technical staff from the School of Mechanical Engineering assisted the participants on aspects of product design such as:

• Refinement of product design for the purposes of model or prototype making
• Material selection and cost estimation
• Process of model or prototype making
• Model or prototype making
• Design presentation

A total of 14 schools visited the Design & Rapid Prototyping Centre (DRPC) during the two days for consultation and advice on their projects for the Citi Ideas in Action 2008 event. The projects were very interesting and innovative.

• ITE College Central – Bedok
• Ahmad Ibrahim Secondary School
• Nanyang Primary School
• Catholic High School

• NUS High School of Mathematics and Science
• Anglo-Chinese School (Junior)
• Chongzheng Primary School
