Chi Lam founded Lanston in 2006, a venture in the production of plastic book clips and the products are distributed to bookstores.
He started by selling his items as corporate gifts, he has since moved to distributing his products to bookstores, such as Evergreen Stationery and our NP and NUS Co-op. Having just started his business again, he is securing more distributors for his book clips.

Wilson PangDiploma in ECE, Class of 2005Wilson is the founder of Insound Productions which started in 2006. Insound provides a one-stop service that combines sound and event engineering. The venture started with the EnterpriZe Scheme. Some of Insound customers include Starhub and Ngee Ann Polytechnic. As he is currently in University, he is unable to grow his business.

Azman founded Azil Engineering Services in 2001, a provider of mechanical and electrical services for Building. He worked in the construction industry up to 2000. He was retrenched by his company and thus given no other jobs; he decided to start his own business. His business has grown from a one man operation to the current 5 men operation. Over the years, your sales have grown from a modest $50,000 per year to the current $2million turnover per year.

Clifford founded Smudgers and Kickers, a business which rents out coin-operated table football sets to events, schools and any other possible locations. He started this business as a project for his final year module, Entrepreneurship in Practice, a module that uses the Experiential Model of learning, EXTEND.
Jocelyn HuangDiploma in Business Studies, class of 2007Jocelyn founded AsiaStyler.com in 2007, an online store selling unique designer wear and accessories. AsiaStyler.com also provides style consultation and designing of apparels for their clients. She is currently doing it as a part-time hobby as she is now in the university.

The 3 ex-classmates founded FreshDirect together, 2 years after they completed their degree. The business supplies and delivers fresh fruits and prepared salads to restaurants and hotels. FreshDirect is now 8 years old.
FreshDirect assures their customers the freshest fruits as they bypass middlemen. Their customers may order online and the fruits will be delivered in the afternoon.

Ainsley Lim, one of our Diploma in BIO alumni, graduated from Ngee Ann’s LSCT school in 1992 is the CEO and co-founder of Orionis Technologies Pte Ltd. Orionis is a successful Small Medium Enterprise which specializes in high tech printing and plastic cards (such as credit cards and membership cards) for the electronic industry. Apart from printing, Orionis also supplies raw materials of the cards which Orionis has an exclusive distributorship for.
Orionis started in 2000 with two other partners whom went to university with Ainsley. Over 7 years, the business has grown from a modest turnover of $200,000 per year to the current $2-3m turnover annually. The company become regional with offices in Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea and China.

WITS Web and IT solutions, founded by Gary Teo, Hong Ming Shun and Tan Yang Yang, is a company specializing in creative works in Web consultancy and IT solutions. Some of their clients include Peugeot and Ford and real estate portals. Due to army commitment, the 3 partners were able to start again only in 2007.

Rakesh Kumar Gupta and Lim Soon JinnDiploma InfoComm Technology, Class of 1996
Rakesh, having just recently won an Indian young entrepreneur award, started Heulab Pte Ltd with Lim Soon Jinn. Both Rakesh and Soon Jinn graduated from NP, School of ICT in 1996.
Heulab, a software developer of education verticals learning applications, has seen 6 successful years since its inception in 2002. No mean feat considering both directors had only 1 year of work experience in the IT sector, upon graduating from NUS, after NP, before taking that step to start Heulab.
Heulab has been winning awards after awards, some of their more prominent awards are ; 2006 Microsoft Independent Software vendor software solutions sales and marketing partner of the year,
Best Microsoft partner award 2005 for ISV of the year and Windows Vista 2007 launch partner of the year.

Diploma InfoComm Technology, Class of 1990Magdelene started Clay Cove in 2002 after 10 years of work experience. As she did not find the satisfaction in doing what she did, she decided to start her own business on her passion of claywork. Clay Cove is a school for young children to learn pottery classes for team building. Some of their customers are not only children but big corporate clients who conduct such classes for the enrichment of their staff. Her passion is to share her interest and to teach pottery to enrich someone’s life.

Daniel Yap and Zalid TalibDiploma in Mass Communication, Class of 2003Orbital is a full-service advertising agency. They bring together award-winning specialists from different media fields in a partnership that offers fress and practical solutions. They specialize in planning, management and execution for investor relations, corporate communications, terrestrial television and campaign strategy scope work.
Orbital is founded by a couple of NP school of FMS graduates. One advise from Yan Feng of Orbital, the General Manager, is that she hopes NP students will learn to make up for their lack of experience by good old hardwork. Also, she stressed that it is important to learn from the lecturers in order to avoid costly and embarrassing mistakes as an entrepreneur.
