The YES! Startups is a grant from the government to provide funding to Institutes of Higher Learning (IHL) like Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) to support their student venture programmes. It is being administered by Standards, Productivity and Innovation Board (SPRING Singapore) with the aim of nurturing and encouraging youths to be enterprising and innovation through 'hands-on' entrepreneurship learning.

Eligibility
The scheme is open to all full-time, part-time and graduate Ngee Ann Polytechnic students who are Singapore citizens or PR below 26 years old on the date of application(but excludes part-time continuing education students). Parental consent is needed for applicants who are 18 years old and below.

Applicants must also be first time entrepreneurs and incorporate a private limited company (upon approval) with its business activities wholly or mainly based in Singapore. 

For applicants with existing businesses, it should not have been registered or incorporated for more than 6 months prior to the application. For such existing businesses, the applicants must hold at least 50% of the shareholding in the business. Any other ongoing business will not be eligible for the grant.

Investment Guidelines
YES! Startups is for investment into student ventures only. Spring Singapore will match S$4 for every S$1 raised by the applicant through self-funding, schools or any other third-party sources. The maximum YES!Startups contribution is S$50,000 per venture.

Evaluation of Student Venture
Student venture must have a sound business plan. The business idea will be evaluated based on innovativeness, feasibility and potential market opportunity.
