In this Scheme, 8 to 10 students form a Student Management Team (SMT) to jointly manage the Cheers outlet at NP’s Student Plaza. All Year 1 NP students are invited to apply for this entrepreneurship Scheme which provides a platform for students to vie for the opportunity to gain first-hand exposure to the retail business by working with Cheers Holdings.  Students are given the opportunity to manage the store independently whilst under the support of a full-time Cheers Store Manager. They propose the appropriate store product mix, plan and implement events as well as tender for supply for campus events towards set sales targets.

The successful applicants are chosen based on factors such as passion in running the business, and the quality of proposals presented in the selection process. Cheers then gives the team two months of classroom and in-store training on retail and merchandise management. There will be a new SMT for Cheers at each semester.
