Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) and the Spirit of Enterprise (SOE) signed a Memorandum of Understanding in May 2008 to promote student entrepreneurship through a "Shadow-an-Entrepreneur" Programme (The Programme).

Under the Programme, identified NP students will be able to shadow a relevant SOE entrepreneur for a specified day or period locally to observe him/her during their business operation.

Insights to be gleaned include networking, business planning, strategy, finance, hiring, franchising, family business conflict and succession.

The Programme is opened to all NP students and recent graduates who have obtained a full-time diploma from NP within five years of application to the Programme.

SOE and NP will also work hand-in-hand in areas such as in Business Plan Clinic opened by NP’s Entrepreneurs-Connect@NP, whereby SOE Entrepreneurs may be invited as consultants to coach NP students in business plans, product/market studies and elevator pitch. Other areas of collaboration may also cover joint organization of talks, seminars workshops, surveys and competitions and co-operation on academic or curriculum matters.
