Eduwin is an Education Wireless
Integrated Network to allow students from the different
Polytechnics & Universities to connect to the internet
from any participating institution.

1.
How Does it Work |
|
|
There are designated EDUWIN surfing hotspots
in the participating Polytechnics and Universities
listed here -> http://eduwin.nus.edu.sg/ready.html
Before you rush out to the other Institutions
to surf, be sure to get the following info:
• Decide which Campus you want to visit.
• Get a copy of their Campus Map with the
EDUWIN location marked on it.
• Take Note of the SSID for that campus
you are visiting. Without the correct SSID, you
will not be able to associate to their Wireless
Network and hence will not be able to VPN to Ngee
Ann.
• Preinstall the Student
VPN before you go.

2.
How to Get onto the Wireless Network of the Hosting
Campus |
|
|
You will need to configure your Wireless card
SSID to match the designated SSID for the respective
campuses. Refer to http://eduwin.nus.edu.sg/ready.html
for more information.
Once you are connected to their network, you will
not be able to surf. You must launch and login
to the Ngee Ann Student VPN program before you
can surf the internet or access NP intranet.

3.
How to Surf |
|
|
After connecting to the Wireless network of the
hosting campus, you need to launch and login to
the NP Student VPN. Go to http://www.np.edu.sg/eduwin/eduwin_setup.html
for the VPN connection to Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
If you can login to Student VPN but you are unable
to surf anywhere, try checking your IE Automatic
Proxy setting. It should be http://cache.np.edu.sg/proxy.pac.

For assistance please contact your Department's
helpdesk/support . To speedup the resolution try
to gather the following information:
• Date and Time,
• MAC address of your wireless card,
• Location of the hotspot,
• Are you able to associate (obtain radio
signals) to the hotspot?
• Any error message seen?
