Diploma in Hotel & Leisure Facilities Management (N40)

  • Acquire a solid foundation to manage hotels and leisure facilities

  • Attend off-campus lessons at Resorts World Sentosa and other leading hotels

  • Champion green building design and technologies for hotels and leisure facilities
  • Participate in eco-tourism study trips to regional countries

Behind every world-famous five-star hotel or glamorous luxury shopping mall is a team of trained professionals delivering the perfect brand experience to guests.

Imagine managing the operations of integrated resorts like Marina Bay Sands or Resorts World Sentosa. It is a massive and complex task that requires deep-set knowledge in managing and operating areas ranging from front office and back-of-the-house operations to food and beverage outlets, security and housekeeping.

It requires an understanding of the consumer psyche. It requires the experience to know what needs to be done to deliver good customer service, and the skills to do it.

Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s Diploma in Hotel & Leisure Facilities Management (HLFM) will train you for this.

Here, you will gain a strong foundation in managing hotels and leisure facilities. You will get to visit local hotels and attend off-campus workshops at food and beverage (F&B) establishments such as At-Sunrice GlobalChef Academy. You will meet hoteliers and chefs to learn from their interesting experiences. You will gain a better understanding of the role of a hotel general manager and the key functions of the various hotel departments.

You will also learn to operate and manage eco-friendly buildings that use green building technologies and minimise resource use. What’s more, you will get to experience what eco-tourism is about through study trips to places like the Topas Ecolodge in Vietnam.

Many luxurious hotels and mega-sized leisure facilities are being built in Singapore and you can look forward to working in these prestigious facilities.

You can work as a facility officer, property executive, business development executive, front office executive or guest relations executive.

With your training in both front-of-the-house and back-of-the-house operations, you will have an added advantage in gaining employment in the hotel and hospitality industry.

You will be able to continue your education by pursuing a degree in Project & Facilities Management at the National University of Singapore. You can also pursue a degree in Hotel Management offered by University of Nevada (Las Vegas) at the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT).

Various overseas universities in Australia, the UK and the US also offer advanced standing to our graduates when they apply for related degree courses.

HLFM graduates can also enrol in hospitality or business degree courses offered locally or overseas.
