The Marine LIUP (Local Industry Upgrading Programme) has been actively engaged in developmental work and studies in the Marine Industries since its establishment in 1996 under the Economic Development Board. COI-MOT together with Marine LIUP have work on projects to improve work processes for the affiliated SMEs in Singapore major shipyards. Over the last 3 years, the projects undertaken together are :
- Semi-automatic multiple torch welding
- Pipe cutting in space constraint space
- Pipe beveling process
- Plank strength testing
