 1-INSTITUTE-2-SYSTEM FUNDING (1I2S) 

1I2S course fee funding is provided by MOE to eligible participants who are self-sponsored or company-sponsored.   

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Participants must be Singaporean or Permanent Residents (PR) aged 16 and above
  • Participants who have not attained a government subsidised diploma, degree or higher qualification.
  • Students who transfer or re-admit from a part-time diploma within the same or across polytechnics) are  eligible for the subsidy covering the Funding Period, less the number of semesters of subsidy received for the previous courses.
  • Students who transfer or re-admit from a full-time diploma to the part-time diploma (within the same or across polytechnics) are eligible for the subsidy covering the Funding Period, less the number of semesters of subsidy received for previous full-time studies.
  • When the course is company-sponsored, sponsoring companies must be registered or incorporated in Singapore and must fully sponsor the course fees.

Funding Level:

  • In line with the Government’s move to sharpen the differentiation between Singapore Citizen (SC), Permanent Resident (PR) and foreigners to reflect the responsibilities and privileges of citizenship, the funding level for SC and PR is capped at 70% and 60% of course fees respectively.
  • First-time trainees who complete the part-time diploma will receive a completion award of up to $1,000.
  • Course fee funding shall be applicable during the 'Funding Period', defined as the normal course duration of 1200 hours (from the date of admission), or up to graduation, whichever is earlier.
  • Students are funded once for every module (except for online modules for which there is no funding). Repeat modules are not funded.
  • Students are funded at the prevailing rate for each semester except for repeat modules (full module fee payable)
  • Students resuming studies after deferment are funded at the prevailing rate at the point of resumption of studies.
  • Re-admitted students (e.g dismissal/withdrawal cases) are funded at the prevailing rate at the point of re-admission.
  • Funding terms and conditions are subject to review on a semestral basis without prior notice.



Fee Payment:

Companies and individuals pay the non-funded portion of the tuition fees. GST payable is on the non funded portion of the fees.

Absentee payroll-support provided by WDA is also available to company-sponsored participants at www.skillsconnect.gov.sg
