 Withdrawal/ Deferment/ Refund Policies 

PART TIME DIPLOMA, SPECIALIST & ADVANCED DIPLOMA  

WITHDRAWAL:

§     Fill up the online form (available at CET Academy's Student e-Services website) to CET Academy
§     Settle all outstanding bills, course fees, return all library books and student card (before the request for withdrawal can be processed)
§     You will still be considered a student of the Polytechnic and are subjected to the same rules and regulations until your withdrawal request is endorsed

DEFERMENT:

§     Fill up the online form (available at CET Academy's Student e-Services website) to CET Academy
§     Attach all relevant documents stating reasons for deferment
§     All deferment requests will be assessed on a case-by case basis

Important:

§     Latest date for submission of request 
    o         Deferment / withdrawal: before study week 
    o         Reduce Module Load : before mid-term break 
    o         Transfer of course: after release of results     
§     Support with relevant documents stating reasons
§     All cases will be assessed on a case by case basis
§     Be familiar with the REFUND policy

REFUNDS  

For Diploma in Technology

Diploma in Technology students are liable to pay full course fees. There will be no refund / waiver of miscellaneous and insurance fees due to withdrawal or deferment. All appeals for refund or waiver of tuition fees due to withdrawal or deferment must be made in writing to the Director, CET Academy. Each appeal will be assessed and processed on a case-by-case basis. Guidelines for refund or waiver of tuition fees are as follows:

Appeal Received

Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents

Foreigners

Before semester starts

100% refund / waiver of tuition fees
(less $50 administrative charge)

Within One week after semester starts.

No refund / waiver of Fees

Refund / waiver of 75% of tuition fees for the semester, on valid grounds* given

More than One week after semester starts

No refund / waiver of Fees i.e. liable for full course fees for the semester

* Valid grounds include medical leave and overseas company assignment

For Other Part-Time Diploma, Specialist Diploma, Advanced Diploma and WSQ Programmes

Students are liable to pay full course fees. There will be no refund / waiver of miscellaneous and insurance fees due to withdrawal or deferment. All appeals for refund or waiver of tuition fees due to withdrawal or deferment must be made in writing to the Director, CET Academy. Each appeal will be assessed and processed on a case-by-case basis. Guidelines for refund or waiver of tuition fees are as follows:

For Certificate & Short Courses

§     Fill up the online form (available at CET Academy's Student e-Services website) to CET Academy.
§     Deferment is not allowed if the course does not have the next scheduled date. In this case refund policy applies.   

Students are liable to pay full course fees. All appeals for refund or waiver of fees due to withdrawal or deferment must be made in writing to the Director, CET Academy. Each appeal will be assessed and processed on a case-by-case basis. Guidelines for refund or waiver of fees are as follows

Within two weeks before course starts

75% refund / waiver of Course Fees

On commencement of course

No refund

NB: In the event that the courses are cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances, full refund will be given.
Minor amendments to enhance the course may be necessary. In this context, refunds are not allowed.
