What You Will Learn
You are required to complete 2 post-diploma certificates within a two-year validity period to be awarded the Specialist Diploma qualification.
Environmental & Chemical Analyses

Understand the effects of hazardous substances, and the key aspects of environmental, water chemistry and air quality monitoring. Attain skills in the detailed operation of Gas Chromatography.

Advanced Analytical Methods

Introduces the principles of mass spectrometry and its instrumentation and quality standards, change control and deviations. Attain skills in the detailed operation of High Performance Liquid Chromatography.

Entry Requirements

Applicants with any of the following qualifications are invited to apply for the course:

  • A Diploma/Degree in science or engineering with a chemistry component (e.g. life science, chemical science, chemical engineering).

  • Applicants with other qualifications and significant work experience will also be considered.

 

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Applicants who do not meet the entry requirements may be considered for admission to the course based on evidence of at least 5 years of relevant working experience or supporting evidence of competency readiness. Suitable applicants who are shortlisted may have to go through an interview and/or entrance test. The Polytechnic reserves the right to shortlist and admit applicants.
