8th National Accounting Quiz 2011

Welcome to the 8th National Accounting Quiz 2011 (NAQ 2011)! Simply the biggest annual accounting quiz organised in Singapore since 2004. NAQ 2011 promises to be a fun-filled event. The theme this year is “ASSETS… do you have them?” Students will be immersed in a series of accounting-related activities to reinforce their accounting concepts and to stimulate their passion for accounting.

Every participating school is encouraged to submit a maximum of 3 teams comprising 4 participants each.

Registration opens on 2 May 2011 and closes on 1 July 2011 . Please click HERE for points to note before registration. To register, please click HERE.

Participants in the Preliminary Round will
sit apart from their team-mates and attempt the quiz individually. Each participant will submit his/her answers by SMS (Short Message System) using his/her individual mobile phone. Individual participant scores will be automatically tracked. Top participants from the Preliminary Round will be recognised with Certificates of Distinction or Merit depending on performance.

Familiarisation Exercise, 11 to 13 July 2011
Students who have registered for NAQ 2011 are required to participate in the pre-event familiarisation exercise. The purpose of this exercise is to familiarise students with the sms format and to verify that their numbers have been properly registered for the event.

Click HERE to view a SAMPLE ANSWER SHEET which students will need to refer to during the pre-event familiarisation exercise.

  1. Every participant is to submit a test sms using the attached answer sheet.
  2. All participants are to use their handphones registered with the School of Business & Accountancy, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, the organizer of NAQ 2011.
  3. The familiarisation round is open until 5pm on 13 July 2011 for all registrants.

Note: Participants will NOT be prompted to submit their test smses.

Please submit your test sms anytime before 5pm on 13 July 2011. PLEASE VIEW THE VIDEO FIRST BEFORE SUBMISSION.

Five teams will be selected for the Semi-final Round based on the ranking of team scores computed using the average of individual members’ performance in the Preliminary Round. Two teams from the Semi-final Round will proceed to the Final Round. The Semi-final and Final Rounds will be played as a game show; the teams will display their accounting knowledge in a battle of wits on-stage.


A complete Information Pack for NAQ 2011 with the necessary details will be sent to participating Schools after registration closes on 1 July 2011.
