Parents of 142 first year students attended the School's Parents' Forum on Saturday 29 July 2008 to discuss their children's academic progress, savour student-made food at the brand-new OurSpace@72. Kho Yan Hui, Toh Kwee Gek, Fong Mei Foong and Koh Joo Hiang will help athletes with the Singapore Disability Sports Council to "Live that Dream" at Ngee Ann City on 2 August 2008 with a National Record for Wonderknots! The Singapore Stock Challenge, an event jointly organized with The Learning Society and sponsored by Citi Foundation with trainers all the way from Canada, took place on 5 July 2008 at the Ngee Ann Polytechnic Convention Centre. Sahimi Ahmad graduated with a Diploma in Business Studies in May 2008. During his time at the School of Business & Accountancy, Sahimi spent a successful 6 months working in China despite his inability to speak Mandarin. The first batch of 34 Direct Polytechnic Admission students from the 5 diplomas in the School of Business and Accountancy completed the Ngee Ann Preparatory Programme successfully and received their certificates on 29 April 2008. Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) and the Singapore Human Resources Institute (SHRI) have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance NP students' Human Resources Management (HRM) skills. Diploma in Tourism & Resort Management (TRM) students at the School of Business & Accountancy attended classes at the InterContinental Hotel Singapore on 7th January 2008. Mr Lewyn Lee Wei Chung, top graduate in Business Management from Singapore Management University, and an alumnus of the School, writes about his achievement. Participants of the Forex Challenge, organised by the School of Business & Accountancy’s Investment Club, had a heart-thumping, yet fun ride in the foreign exchange market for three weeks, from 17 December 2007 to 4 January 2008.
