On 22 May 2010, ten teams of 3rd year Diploma in Accountancy students from the School of Business & Accountancy (BA) participated in the inaugural Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Audit and Accounting Challenge 2010. All together, 50 teams from NTU, NUS, SMU, NP, SP, NYP and TP participated in the event. The Challenge began with a Preliminary Round of 40 multi-choice questions on auditing and financial accounting. Thereafter, four teams were selected for the final Case Study Round. The finalists were given two hours to answer an accounting-related case study.

Team “Creators”, consisting of Ms Zhang Xiao Yu, Ms Ooi Su Xin, Ms Zhang Xin Dan and Ms Linda Pang Shu En, did BA proud by making it to the Case Study Round and  subsequently winning the $400 prize. This is a great achievement in itself, as our students were in direct competition with university students.

Overall, all participants had a great time at the Challenge. It was indeed a good learning experience for our Accountancy students.
