Diploma in International Business (IBZ) – New!

Introduction

The new Diploma in International Business aims to develop you into a young professional with a global and entrepreneurial mindset.

Armed with a firm foundation in business, first-hand international experiences and multilingual skills, you will be poised to manage complexities in a multicultural landscape, and succeed in an international marketplace.

You will also have the unique opportunity to expand your horizons with immersion programmes involving cross-cultural learning, exchange programmes or community service projects. Through these immersion programmes, you will develop the self-confidence, independence, tenacity and sensitivity needed to excel in different cultures and diverse business environments.

Your three years of training will also equip you with skills and knowledge in key areas such as human resource management, marketing, information technology, finance and supply chain management. In your final year, your learning will culminate with a six-month overseas internship or an internship with a Singapore-based company active in international business.

You may choose to learn a foreign language to give you the extra edge in international business, and further strengthen your competency in the foreign language by taking up the Diploma Plus Certificate in Foreign Language.

Additionally, the course is strongly endorsed by the Singapore Business Federation. Its CEO, Mr Teng Theng-Dar, is fully supportive of the new diploma as it gives students the knowledge and skills to manage business in the international context. Students will acquire intercultural sensitivities, overseas exposure to different business environments and practices, and keen sense of business development matched by a good understanding of the services and wide-ranging domain areas in international trading and supply chain.
Career Prospects

With Singaporean businesses moving overseas in increasing numbers, there is an urgent
demand for professionally trained personnel in the various areas of international trade and business.

International Business graduates can work in business development, sales and marketing,
human resource management, operations management and logistics. You can also work with multinationals in industries such as services, trading, property development, education, hospitality, tourism and banking.
