BA GOAL & Clementi Student Services Centre

Preparatory Camp

The long awaited BA GOAL* camp returned! This time, it was bigger and better! The 3D2N camp was held from 27 March to 1 April 2010 on campus. More than 30 participants attended the event. The main objectives of the camp was to bond exsiting members of BA GOAL and organise a trip to Henderson Waves at Hort Park for the kids from Clementi Student Services Centre. Members planned interactive and fun games for both the kids and themselves to enjoy.

Members had an exhilirating time playing games and activities. Games such as "Are you smarter than Bae Yong Joon?" ensured fun and laughter for all. The "Plasticine Game" also played on our creativity in moulding.

Other than simply having fun, the camp had a sentimental touch towards the end. The present Ex-Co handed the leadership baton to the next batch of Ex-Co. There was also a short farewell performane by Joel Tang (ex-Preseident).

On the second day, members visited Henderson Waves, Hort Park to be aquiainted with the environment. Participants had to identify places which they were going to use to practise their games and activities.

Clementi Student Services' Centre

The Clementi Student Services' Centre serves to provide care to children and teenagers from a variety of backgrounds. Some of them have Attention Deficiency Hyperactive Dsyfunction (ADHD) and autism. The Centre organises activities and trips to cater to this group of children. For this event, we had an excursion of 30 children ranging from 5-12 years old.

A Walk at Hort Park

The event was held on the 15th of March from 8am-2pm. The kids and facilitators were divided into 6 groups and each group consisted of 4-6 kids with 2-3 BA GOAL facilitators.

The walk began from the Henderson bridge. We then made our way across the bridge towards Hort Park. Along the way, we played games that had been planned during the prep camp. Facilitators were very encouraging, motivating and cheering the kids on to do their best and yet having fun. When we reached Hort Park, not only did the kids enjoy the playground, but even the facilitators could not help but join in!

Both the BA Goal members and children of the Clementi Student Services' Centre truly had an amazing and memorable time together!
