Members of BA GOAL- (Grace On Another’s Life) a group begun by
then-students of the School of Business & Accountancy upon their return
from a community service-learning trip to Cambodia – continue to be inspired to
work with organizations such as the Salvation Army and the Singapore Children’s
Society to do more for under-privileged Singaporeans.
During their September holidays BA GOAL executed 2 different
events with the children from the Singapore Children’s Society located at Bedok.
The first was a sports gathering on the 3rd of
September 2009. Members of BA GOAL played
dodge ball and Frisbee together with the children. It was a great opportunity
to build rapport and encourage bonding.
At the 2nd event on the 10th of
September 2009, BA GOAL taught the children some simple steps to create nice mini-gift
bags for their friends, in the hope of encouraging them to express their
creativity and appreciation for one another.
About 25 volunteers from BA GOAL helped to coordinate both
events for the 25 children who attended. It was very heartwarming to see many
volunteers taking time out from their busy schedules to make their lives count
for the less fortunate.
