A team of 6 students supported by the entire class and lecturer Ms Tan Lai Wan from the
Diploma in Business Studies (Marketing Commmunication Option) came in 2nd in the
Chartered Institute of Marketing Singapore (CIMS) International Marketing Competition 2009, local segment.
The judges were wowed by the students' proposal to create a sub-brand – XOXO (hugs & kisses), for The Body Shop. The proposed sub-brand is targeted at the hearts and minds of younger customers.
A total of 12 tertiary institutions including teams from China, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia were selected for the finals.
